Starting this week, UK customers of Revolut will have access to the eSIM service, offering a seamless way to manage data usage while abroad. Unlike traditional SIM cards, the eSIM can be installed digitally with just a few clicks within the Revolut app, eliminating the hassle of physically acquiring and swapping SIM cards.
One of the key features of the eSIM is its flexibility. Users can utilize the eSIM alongside their physical SIM card, allowing them to switch between networks effortlessly as per their needs. This dual functionality ensures uninterrupted connectivity, regardless of the user’s location.
By connecting the eSIM, Revolut customers can access the Revolut app without consuming their mobile data allowance. Additionally, subscribers to the Ultra plan will enjoy the added benefit of 3GB of data per month for global usage. Moreover, all UK customers will receive an introductory offer of 100 MB of mobile data at no cost.
The initiative comes at a time when the cost of using mobile data overseas continues to rise. With most UK mobile networks discontinuing the “roam like at home” feature within the EU, travelers are left vulnerable to exorbitant data charges outside their standard benefits.
