SignaPay, established in 2006 by John Martillo, is a merchant account provider based in Irving, Texas, offering EMV card readers/wipers, contactless NFC payments, POS solutions, mobile solutions, virtual terminal access, the PayHub+ payment gateway, and recurring billing.
SignaPay has been sued 2 times in the past as our research has shown. In 2015, they were charged with misappropriation of trade secrets, and in 2016 with allegations of excessive phone calls.
SignaPay has a total of 13 complaints registered at the Better Business Bureau. 1 of the complaints was due to a problem with a product or service, 4 were billing or collection problems, 6 were due to advertising or sales problems, and 2 were problems with a warranty or guarantee.
Only 1 of these 13 complaints was resolved by the company to the satisfaction of the merchant. Furthermore, they are accused by various merchants of charging for services that were not ordered.
Due to the many complaints and accusations that SignaPay is a scam, we have placed the company on our “Red Compliance” list.
