Qonto is a so-called neo-bank based in Paris that specializes in small and medium-sized enterprises, start-ups, and founders. The company with a French banking license has been on the market since 2017 and offers its services to customers in France, Germany, Italy and Spain.

The Qonto business account fills a gap in the digital business account sector. The business account with the German IBAN enables online banking. Qonto is suitable for sole proprietors and registered companies and is characterized by a clear price structure that is based on the type of self-employment and the form of business.

The Paris-based company was founded in 2016 by Alexandre Prot and Steve Anavi and had over 300 employees in January 2021.

Qonto is backed by Peter Thiel´s venture capital company Valar Ventures.
