Currensea

Travel debit card provider

Currensea is a travel debit card provider that claims to offer super-low foreign exchange fees.

Currensea allows consumers and SMEs to make purchases from abroad or overseas without incurring the foreign exchange fees normally charged by banks. Using open banking technology, Currensea‘s debit card works with your existing bank account, so customers would not have to worry about cumbersome prepaid cards and different currency accounts.

Not only should this eliminate over 85% of bank fees for spending abroad, but it should also eliminate the need to pay in advance, load money, juggle multiple currencies, or maintain multiple accounts.

The FinTech was founded in 2021 by Craig Goulding (Linkedin), and James Lynn (Linkedin). It is headquartered in London, UK.

Currensea Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, including for the provision of payment services under the Payment Services Regulations 2017 (Reference No. 843507).

We could not find any irregularities around the company and place Currensea in our “Green compliance” list.
