Friday Finance (Airbank)

All-in-one finance OS for SMBs

Key Data

Friday Finance is a Berlin-based fintech, launched by Christopher Zemina and Patrick de Castro Neuhaus in 2021.

In June 2021, the fintech closed a €2.5m seed round led by Pia d’Iribarne and Jean de la Rochebrochard at New Wave, with Speedinvest and Tiny VC also participating.

During the summer of 2002, Friday Finance received $20 million in a Series A financing round.

Friday Finance operates in accordance with the regulatory requirements of BaFin (German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority) and the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) and is fully DSGVO compliant.

Friday Finance is based on a modern multi-banking platform for managing existing business accounts in a unified system.
This allows SMEs not only to record account movements but also to create liquidity forecasts and make payments.

In this way, it is possible to manage all bank accounts uniformly and use them for further financial planning.

Specifically, this is a cash flow management solution for SMEs that enables smooth liquidity management and planning and simplifies payment transactions.

Their service includes:

  • Multi Banking
  • Cashflow Management
  • Invoice payment
  • Document Management
  • Company cards
  • Financing

Offered are 3 subscription packages:

  • Basic (Free of charge)
  • Premium (89 €/month)
  • Scale (249 €/month)

Additional costs come if you exceed the upper limit of free payments per month included in the subscription.

In November 2022, the company rebranded itself as Friday Finance.

In September 2023 the Fintech was sold to its Competitor Pliant (PR42 Profile):

The founders of Friday Finance, Patrick de Castro Neuhaus and Christopher Zemina, are selling their company to Pliant due to challenges in the market. After the acquisition, Friday Finance will be dissolved, and Pliant will focus on refining its product suite, with the deal valuing Friday Finance at slightly over €100 million.

We could not find any negative information about this payment provider, plus the fact that it meets all our criteria, we rate it Green.

The company has ceased its operations, and the operational business is integrated by pliant into their business
