FinTelegram recently reported that according to Similarweb statistics, porn sites xHamsterLive and StripChat have disappeared from the top referral sites of the German-Cypriot high-risk payment processor Payabl. The Payabl Group has created a new domain, Taurus21.com, which is now used to handle payment processes with porn and gambling customers. Via Taurus21.com, payable processes the payment traffic from its porn and online gambling merchants.
The Porn Token Payments
For example, if clients of StripChat or xHamsterLive want to buy porn tokens with bank transfers via Sofort, part of the Klarna Group, the payment is routed via APIs from CentroBill and Taurus21 to the Sofortpayment page. Consequently, the payment traffic of these porn and gambling merchants is no longer visible in the Similarweb statistics of Payabl (formerly PowerCash21). Somehow the Payabl people love the number 21.
Almost 70% of the customers who buy porn tokens via Sofort are from Germany and Austria.
The Wirecard Legacy
Founded by former Wirecard executives Dietmar Knoechelmann and Ruediger Trautmann, Payabl has replaced the collapsed Wirecard as the high-risk payment processor in Germany and the EU.
The Payabl Group operates with a Payment Institution License issued by the Central Bank of Cyprus. The group also has companies in Germany and the United Kingdom.
The Payabl founders Knoechelmann and Trautmann brought the gaming business into Wirecard in the early years between 2007 and 2010 through the sale of their companies. After leaving Wirdecard, the two founded PowerCash21 and Inatek, which continued to operate as satellite companies in the Wirecardshadow organization. PowerCash21 and Inatec evolved into the Payabl Group in recent years. Ugne Buracienne, a Lithuanian payment veteran, serves as the Group’s CEO.
